Our services
By working closely alongside local authority teams, we have found that it is possible to achieve positive outcomes for the children in placement.
Fostering Solutions offer a range of placements for children and young people, who are unable to live at home with their families. We aim to offer a flexible service able to meet the assessed needs of the child and their family and to help fulfil the aims of the child’s care plan.
Our carers are highly trained, with many having a wealth of experience enabling them to meet the needs of children with challenging behaviours or special requirements.
Types of placements we can offer
Below is a list of the different types of placements we can offer.
Short-term Placements
Provision of short-term care that could be for a few days, weeks or months, whilst plans are made for the child’s future by the Local Authorities / Social Services Departments.
Long-term Placements
These placements are for the longer term placements, where adoption is not an option, and the foster carer cares for a child/young person up to and into adult independence as a member of their family.
Emergency / Unplanned Placements
These placements happen in instances where a child needs somewhere to stay for a few nights (sometimes longer, depending on the circumstances). Placements are provided at short notice and Fostering Solutions offers a 24hour emergency response service to support this request.
Intensive Support Placements
For children and young people who have very complex needs and/or challenging behaviour. Again, these placements are supported by experienced foster carers.
Parent & Child Placements
This type of placement is for young people who have become parents at a young age and who need support and guidance in caring for their own child.
Sibling Placements
Sibling Placements are for brothers and sisters who are all placed together in a foster care household. Fostering Solutions advocates keeping siblings together within a family environment, unless it is deemed inappropriate by the placing Authority.
Disabled children & young people
Fostering Solutions has a range of carers who have experience and skills in caring for children and young people who are disabled and/or require specialist medical care.
Short Break/Respite Placements
Respite placements are provided to give parents a break or offer additional support if they do not have their own support network. In addition, respite is also offered to our own foster carers and is available in order to support placement demands and needs. Short break care is designed to support children within their own families or foster families with whom the child is living. This can be anything from an overnight stay to a couple of weeks.
Asylum Seeker Placements
Fostering Solutions has a range of experienced, patient foster carers who are willing to advocate, access services and work within the child’s care plan in supporting and caring for ‘unaccompanied’ children and young people from outside the UK.
