The benefits of working for Fostering Solutions

Salary

Salaries are paid monthly on the last working day of each month by credit transfer into your bank or building society account. Salary reviews take place annually in December.

Hours of working

The normal working week is based on 35 hours which are normally 9am- 5pm Monday to Friday. In addition staff may take a one-hour unpaid lunch break. The nature of work undertaken by our Social Work teams requires some evening and weekend work, and participation in an out of hours on-call rota (which includes evenings/weekends/bank holidays).

Annual leave

Our generous annual leave entitlement for full time employees begins at 25 days per year. An additional day for each completed leave year is granted up to a maximum of 30 days. In addition to annual leave, there are statutory paid bank holidays. Part-time employees will receive a pro-rata entitlement to annual leave.

Sick pay

All employees are entitled to contractual sick pay in accordance with the organisation’s sick pay scheme.

Eye tests

Fostering Solutions will pay towards the cost for the standard eye test for all computer users who meet the agreed criteria, and where required solely for computer use, contribute towards the cost of the lens.

Continuous learning and development

Fostering Solutions actively encourages staff in their development and career progression through training, and offering opportunities to progress within the organisation.

All employees have an annual development assessment which is reviewed on a regular basis throughout the year.

Stakeholder pension and private medical insurance

Membership of the stakeholder pension scheme is available to all employees. Private medical insurance cover is provided for all employees and their spouse/partner, following completion of the probationary period and subject to acceptance by the provider.

Childcare (Salary Sacrifice Scheme)

Fostering Solutions operates a salary sacrifice scheme for employees who have responsibility for children under the age of 16, and under 17 years of age if the child has a disability. This enables the employee to make savings on tax and NI contributions on the amount sacrificed.

Company car

Employees are entitled to a lease car as part of their remuneration package may choose either a company car or alternatively a cash allowance of £265 per month. This is a taxable benefit. Business mileage will be paid at Inland Revenue rates. We currently operate a fleet of Renault vehicles which carry a 5* safety rating.

Induction

All staff undertake a full and comprehensive induction programme.

This includes spending time at Head Office to enable staff to understand and acquaint themselves with the culture and different aspects of the organisation in addition to a thorough programme based around their job role and responsibilities.

Supervision and appraisal

All staff receive regular planned supervision with their Line Manager and are subject to a six month probationary appraisal followed by an annual appraisal.

A healthy working environment

If you use a computer as part of your work, we will offer you a display screen equipment assessment to make sure that your work station and environment provide you with the right conditions to work in.
