Real life case study- Scotland (NAMES CHANGED)
Eileen and Richard, two Fostering Solutions carers in Scotland, have not only made a real difference to the health of Simon, a 15 year old boy placed with them, but have made an impact on their own health as well.
The couple decided, with Sam’s permission, to enrol him at the local leisure club and created a detailed fitness regime and weight chart based on the Sam’s needs. The carers joined in by going to the gym and actively participating in community events including walks along the local beach. In time a new bike was purchased and they now all enjoy regular cycling trips together. This exercise regime along with healthy eating has made a real difference. Sam, Eileen and Richard have all achieved weight loss and they have all benefited from the time spent together.
